Plantar Fasciitis

Plantar fasciitis is a common foot condition characterized by inflammation of the plantar fascia, a thick band of tissue that runs across the bottom of the foot, connecting the heel bone to the toes. The plantar fascia serves to support the arch of the foot and absorb shock during walking and running.

Key features of plantar fasciitis include:

  1. Heel Pain: The hallmark symptom is pain at the bottom of the heel, often near the front of the heel pad or along the arch of the foot.

  2. Morning Pain: Pain is typically most severe with the first steps in the morning or after a period of rest. It may also be aggravated after prolonged periods of standing or physical activity.

  3. Stiffness: Stiffness and tightness in the foot and calf muscles may accompany the condition.

  4. Tenderness: The affected area may be tender to the touch.
